Glenview Naples

The Glenview at Pelican Bay had only been open for five years when the Board of Directors and Freedom Group recruited Randy to be their Executive Director for this continuing care retirement community. He also took the reins as the Nursing Home Administrator of Premier Place and the Community Association Manager for the Pelican Bay Cooperative Housing Corporation.

As the Executive Director, Randy is responsible for the daily operations and management of The Glenview, the only wholly resident owned retirement community in Florida. This is a collaborative effort between the Board of Directors, Brookdale Senior Living Upper Management and ancillary services, along with the amazing local Glenview Associate Team. This living testimony of World Class Service can be likened to a close knit extended family that loves each other in a caring, supportive and respectful way.

Randy received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology from Florida State University and Master of Social Work degree from Barry University, along with a post graduate Certificate in Elder Care from Florida International University.

Randy and his wife, Claire, have been married for eight years. They have four children, oldest son at University of Central Florida, second son in the U.S. Army, oldest daughter at Cal Poly Tech in California and the youngest daughter is a junior in high school. Claire is presently in nursing school to become a Registered Nurse.

Randy and Claire are very active in the First Baptist Church of Naples, serving in various roles as teachers, mentors and caring hands for youth programs and adult Bible and Life Groups. They also enjoy gardening, home projects, sports and travel.

Randy has been a regular participant in community affairs and service opportunities, including Kids Against Hunger, President and Board Member of The Rotary Club of Naples, Homeowner Association Board Member and Officer, as well as Board/Committee Member of the Florida Association of Home and Services for the Aging (FAHSA).

The most significant moments in Randy’s life have been in helping raise four children, enriching the lives of so many senior adults and being a part of changed lives through church and Rotary.

Amy began as the Director of Financial Services with The Glenview at Pelican Bay and was promoted to Assistant Executive Director a few years later where she tends to all administrative issues when the Executive Director is out of the building. As the Director of Financial Services she has complete oversight on all financial matters regarding the corporate entities which includes reviewing billings for Medicare, managed care and private payer sources, processing capital expense and renovation requests, approving all accounts payable invoices, preparing monthly sales tax returns, and reviewing all investment activity in the communities reserve accounts.

She presents financial information to the Board of Directors at all meetings, and is a member of the Finance Committee which meets monthly. She also plays a primary role in preparing the community’s annual budget and preparing the community for its independent annual audit. She also prepares information for the annual Medicare Cost Report, prepares all annual reports necessary for the Florida Department of Financial Services including the minimum liquid reserve calculation and annual financial ratio information for the accreditation commission, CCAC-CARF. Additionally, she prepares, reviews and distributes monthly financial statements to department directors, Board members, and Finance Committee members in order for all concerned to keep up on the financial condition of the Glenview or take action on any undesirable trends.

Amy received her license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant while working as an auditor and tax preparer in public accounting. When asked of her proudest professional accomplishment she states, “It is passing all four parts of the CPA exam the first time I took it”. Amy attended Vincennes University where she received an Associates of Science degree in Law Enforcement and then attended Hodges University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She has a passion for the Indianapolis Colts and loves when football season starts. She spends most of her time with her children, two American Bulldogs named Bruiser and Tonka.

Theresa Espeseth, The Glenview’s Director of Human Resources, directs all aspects of The Glenview’s Human Resources functions including compensation, benefits, recruitment and retention and payroll. She serves on the Cancer Alliance of Naples Board and is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team for North Naples.

Prior to coming to The Glenview, Theresa was employed as Human Resources Director for hospitals within the Hospital Corporation of America/Columbia, HealthTrust and Tenet organizations, most recently with Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, Florida.

Theresa obtained her BA degrees in History and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary while working as a phlebotomist at HCA West Florida Regional Medical Center (WFRMC), where she was nominated for HCA’s Human Resources Management Internship Program. While employed as Employment Manager at WFRMC, she had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. Theresa and Paul have been married for 32 years and have a 22 year old son, Paul. She loves spending time with her family and friends, the beach, reading, movies and all outdoor activities.

Juan currently holds responsibility for the Building & Facilities department, which includes the Director of Plant Operations, Housekeeping/Laundry and Resident Services. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, preventative maintenance programs and operations, life safety compliance, asset management and involvement with the Landscaping Committee, Building Committee and various other duties focusing on peak efficiencies and overall team work.

His professional work résumé includes building construction background, supervisory and on-hand experience in the maintenance operations ranging from lead construction technician, hospital safety officer, life safety compliance officer for both the acute care settings as well as the long term care settings with senior living environments. He is currently an active member of the NFPA and Florida Healthcare Engineers Association.

Juan is married and has two children, Rebekah Johnson, currently an RN in Premier Place/Glenview, Dan Neftali currently a Specialty Installer for Camping World Inc. in Ft. Myers. , and one grand-daughter. He is the oldest of 11 children from a farm/ranch country town in Texas. Juan enjoys BBQ cookouts, carpentry and auto mechanics, yard work, as well as listening to Tejano music.

As Lifestyles Director, Marilyn McGinty, is responsible for developing a comprehensive entertainment, educational and fitness programs for the residents. She has a committee of 12 residents who help determine the program selection. She publishes, The Glenview News, a monthly publication and prepares the budget and all department correspondences and announcements. She also oversees the welcoming and library committees.

Her career began with teaching at Des Moines Area Community College for four years and managing the Collier County and City of Naples recreation departments for seven years. She received her master’s degree from Drake University in Recreation Administration and her bachelor degree from Minnesota State University.

Marilyn enjoys yoga, pilates, cooking and traveling. She especially enjoys traveling to the Pacific Northwest.

Jane V. Neubecker is the Director of Nursing for GlenCare, the Home Health Care Agency for the residents of The Glenview and surrounding community. She oversees all aspects of the Agency including patient care, regulatory compliance, recruitment, selection and maintenance of qualified personnel, and budgetary and marketing plans.

While working toward her BS in Nursing at the University of Buffalo, she worked as a nursing assistant and LPN. She graduated with departmental honors in 1976 and began her career as a charge nurse on a medical unit at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo. Her career path then took her to the Buffalo VA Hospital where she worked on a research unit that employed only BS educated nurses.

After the birth of her two daughters, she was the Evening Supervisor and Medical Officer for a CCRC in suburban Buffalo during which time she was honored as “Staff Member of the Year”. During that time she also assisted as a Nursing Instructor for the Board of Educational Cooperative Services (BOCES) Program.

Her family moved to Hyde Park New York where she finally found her true nursing passion, Home Health Care. Starting out as a Case Manager in 1998, she assumed the Administrator’s position in 2006 of a Medicare/Medicaid County wide Home Health Care Program. Her Agency earned a zero deficiency Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) survey just before she left to move to Naples.

At that time she felt she could never top that professional goal. She was wrong. She is delighted to be a part of The Glenview and with the help of her dedicated staff not only plans to maintain the standards of GlenCare, but to improve and grow its sterling reputation.

Juan Ricardo actively serves Premier Place at The Glenview as Director of Nursing. He ensures the daily functions continuously operate within Center for Medicare/Medicaid Service (CMS) guidelines. Juan oversees Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and the Interdisciplinary Team. Some of his responsibilities include education, admissions, infection control, wound care, safety, and quality assurance.

He started his career in Cuba in 1986 as a Registered Nurse and shortly after became a Nurse Anesthetist. Juan came to the United States in 1991 and again obtained his license as a Registered Nurse. After working as a Cardiac Care Nurse at Naples Community Hospital for four years, Juan started at Premier Place as a floor nurse. Soon after, he worked his way up to Assistant Director of Nursing where he helped bring the team to a zero deficiency state survey. In 2005, the team was awarded for the most improved reduction in over-time/contract labor. In 2008, Juan was promoted to the Director of Nursing position, and has continued to assist the team in obtaining the Brookdale Senior Living Cornerstone Award yearly.

Juan has been married for ten years now and has a daughter.

Warren Roth, Risk Manager, oversees the incident management program and QI program. He looks for ways of improving safety and lowering the incidence of falls and other potentially harmful events by evaluating and creating safety policies. As the Director of Education, he develops programs and on-line courses for licensed, certified home health aides as well as the mandatory education for all employees.

From Electrical Engineer, to Paramedic then Nurse and from US Steel Corporation to Hospital Emergency Departments and ICU’s in two states then Long term care centers in Florida, depicts his journey to the Glenview. He became interested in the legal aspects of care and reduction of medical errors and as a Long Term Care Manager he learned about Risk Management. To formalize his risk management education, he entered the Risk Management Licensure Program at South Florida University and was licensed as a Risk Manager in 2007. As an Educator, he began instructing Emergency Medical Technicians as a Primary Instructor for the State of Indiana and associate Paramedic Instructor from 1979 to 1986. As a Paramedic Shift Commander and Police Medical Training Officer for the Town of Merrillville Indiana from 1990 to 1996, he also taught first aid techniques to private company employees throughout Northwest Indiana.

Warren has an extensive educational background which includes a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at Purdue University, Nursing Degree at Indiana University, Health Care Risk Management at South Florida University and Legal Nurse Consultant Training at the University of Arizona. Along the way, he has kept himself busy with family life that consists of seven children ranging in age from 6 to 34 and five grandchildren.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Steve was chosen by various four star resorts and country clubs to serve as a chef, banquet chef, and executive chef. In 1994 he decided to go into the retirement side of food service, as a chef. After several years, he decided to move to the front of the house. Since joining the Glenview 14 years ago, Steve and his dedicated staff have received many top performance awards such as “highest residents satisfaction” from 2003-2010. In his off time he created and marketed an in-house culinary service that included special events such as “ladies night out,” wine and cheese parties and dessert specialties.

Steve is married with two children and three stepdaughters. He enjoys golf, wakeboarding and going to the gym.

Michael serves The Glenview at Pelican Bay as the Director of Sales and Marketing. His duties include leading his fine team in the creation of advertisement and hosting of public relations events which promote the community and its lifestyle. Michael utilizes his marketing experience to develop leads and referrals for all three Glenview brands: The Glenview – Lifecare; Premier Place – Health and Rehabilitation Center, and GlenCare – Home Health. His team hosts tours of the community with families that are considering The Glenview as their next home.

Michael’s career began with a tour of duty in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Secure Communications Technician with assignments at multiple bases in Texas, the Philippines, and the National Security Agency. After his military service, he spent several years in Hotel/Restaurant Management before he found his calling in Senior Living.

Michael is a 32-year resident of Naples, FL. He is married to Susan Soulard, a high school teacher and they have an 18-year old daughter, Taylor, and a 12-year old son, Landon. They all enjoy outdoor water sports to include Scuba diving, boating and fishing.

As Therapy Director, Lisa Stepzinski is responsible for program development, routine chart audits, providing patient care, development and implementation of treatment plans, optimizing the treatment minutes for PPS and the day to day operations of the rehabilitation department.

Lisa earned her Masters Degree in Communication and Sciences Disorders from Eastern Illinois University. For the past 10 years she has been working in Naples, Florida. She spent her first 5 years working with both the geriatric and pediatric population in acute care, home health and outpatient settings. Since then, she has been dedicated to the geriatric population in Health & Rehabilitation. She has been in a management position for the past 5 years.

Lisa enjoys reading and running in her spare time, as well as spending time with her children.
