Jim Stahley has lived — and worked — around the world. “I grew up in Massachusetts, worked in Europe as a field engineer, was on the space program in Alabama, spent years in Minnesota working in the computer industry, and eventually made my way to Florida,” Jim said. Along the way, Jim earned three degrees, including a PhD, and spent 20 years as a professor guiding doctoral students.
That well-traveled perspective shapes how Jim views The Glenview at Pelican Bay. “This is by far the most exceptional place I’ve ever lived,” Jim said. Jim moved to The Glenview two months ago after his wife passed, looking for a place that felt peaceful, supportive, and uncomplicated. “You can tour and have dinner here,” said Jim, “but you don’t really understand it until you live here. Everything — the community, the staff, the atmosphere — exceeded my expectations.”
One moment at The Glenview stood out to Jim. “I thought I only needed one bedroom,” Jim said. “But Krisandra, the Sales Director, took the time to get to know me and said, ‘You’re a writer. You need space to create.’ She was absolutely right.” Today, Jim’s second bedroom is a sunlit office where he’s writing two books. “It’s perfect for me,” said Jim.
What Jim values most about The Glenview is the stress-free lifestyle. “If something goes wrong, you just let them know,” said Jim. “It’s always taken care of quickly. You own the apartment, but they take care of the worries.”
That peace of mind extends to safety and care. “I’ve never felt safer,” said Jim. “The Wellness Center is right here if I ever need it.”
The dining at The Glenview also impressed Jim. “It’s like a five-star restaurant,” said Jim. “Four different entrées every night. I have great willpower…until the dessert tray comes out.”
Jim felt welcomed at The Glenview from the start. “What makes this place special are the people,” said Jim. “Most residents say, ‘I wish I’d come sooner.’”
After a lifetime of living around the world, Jim’s conclusion is simple. “The Glenview is beautiful, exceptional, and truly the best place I’ve ever lived.”
